Ward was the son of Orley Poling and Ida Hastings

He married Verneita Halstead in July 1925 in Ypsilanti, MI.

Miss Verneita Halstead, of this city, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Halstead of Rome Center, and Ward Poling, son of Mr. and Mrs. O.O. Poling of Addison, were married Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the Presbyterian manse in Ypsilanti, the Rev. Carl Elliott, pastor of that church, performing the ring ceremony. They were attended by a brother of the groom, William Poling, and Mrs. Poling of Ypsilanti. The bride wore a dress of brown canton crepe.

After the ceremony, a lunch was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Poling in Ypsilanti. The bride and groom returned to this city on Saturday and are at home at their newly furnished house at 122 West Maple Avenue.

Mrs. Poling was a graduate of Adrian high school in 1923 and since that time has been employed as saleswoman at the Sheffield Book Shop. Mr. Poling is employed at the Adrian Knitting Company.
