Born September 9, 1948 in Darlington, he was the son of the late Thad William Weinberg and the late Lena Mae Suggs Weinberg. Billy was owner and operator of Thad Weinberg Sausage Company. He enjoyed seeing and talking to all of his customers, especially if it was about his favorite team, the University of South Carolina Gamecocks . Mr. Weinberg enjoyed coaching baseball and coached teams in the Kiwanis League for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Darlington.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Smith Weinberg, his daughter, Trina Weinberg Griggs, his son and daughter-in-law, Thad William ‘Trey' and Stacy Weinberg, III , six grandchildren: Kara Griggs, Karlyn Griggs, Kimberly Parsons, Gaitley Weinberg, MaKayla Weinberg, Thad William ‘Blake' Weinberg, IV; a great-grandson, Payton Nutter, a sister, Peggy (Don) Ruthven, aunts and uncles, Lila Belle and Archie Moody, Annie Lou and Norton James and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son and a sister, Emma Lena Sherrill.
