Services are set for 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Bedford with pastor Doug Riggs officiating. Graveside services follow at 3:30 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.
No visitation is scheduled.
He was born April 30, 1935, in Honey Grove, the son of David M. and Janie Blackwood Cunningham. He worked in management for Lone Star Gas and retired after 35 years. He was later employed by Atmos Energy as a graphic designer for its gas pipeline system. He was instrumental in establishing Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Bedford, which he loved and was very faithful to. He married Betty Jo Terrell on Aug. 24, 1956, in the McCraws Chapel community near Honey Grove. He also served his country in the Texas Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, R.J. Wiginton.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Terrell Cunningham of Bedford; two daughters, Deborah Johnson and husband, Ty, of North Richland Hills and Tamyara Wiginton of Tyler; son, Mike Cunningham and wife, Donna, of Checotah, Okla.; grandchildren, Kelly Keller, Amanda Cunningham, Jacob Wiginton, Devan Johnson, Ryan Johnson and Brenna Johnson; brother, Lloyd Cunningham of the Dial community; and sister, Pauline Hodges of Plano.

Mr. Cunningham passed away Thursday, November 24, 2005 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
He was born April 30, 1935 in Honey Grove, Texas to David M. and Janie Blackwood Cunningham.
He worked in management for Lone Star Gas and retired after 35 years. Mr. Cunningham was later employed for Atmos Energy as a graphic designer for its gas pipeline system. He was instrumental in establishing Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Bedford, a church he loved and was faithful to.
