NOTE (2018):
Records have been found in which Samuel's older children opposed Elizabeth after the death of Samuel. Significant accusations were made about the credibility of the marriage, even though there are Amite Co marriage records; her character; and the parentage of son, William. It is very doubtful that they would have allowed her burial in the Samuel McGehee Cemetery with their father.
