Grace Richardson, first child of William Tracy Richardson and Alice Ann Sarah (Scotchman) Richardson, was born 8 August 1881 in the London Borough of Lambeth when her parents were living at 67 Lowden Road, Herne Hill. She was baptized 4 September 1881 in St Saviour's Church. Grace died at the age of five months on 17 January 1882. The cause of death was meningitis convulsions. She was buried at West Norwood Cemetery and Crematorium. She shares a grave and marker with her uncle Walter Scotchman, the brother of Grace’s mother Alice. Walter had died of malignant scarlet fever in May 1881 at the age of 13.
