Findley Rites To Be Held Tomorrow

Miss Myrtle Irene Findley, 83, 1611 South Eight, a lifelong resident of Atchison county and a member of a pioneer family, died at 6:20 o'clock yesterday morning at the Atchison hospital. She had been a patient at the hospital since suffering a stroke a week ago. Miss Findley had resided in Atchison since 1929 and previously was a resident of the Curlew community where she was born. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Sawin & Dyer chapel. The Rev. Harold Roberts, pastor of the First Christian church, will officiate. Burial will be in Round Mound cemetery, south of Curlew, in the family lot. Pallbearers will be Millard Tate, Jr., Wendel Lehman, David Gilman, Everett Early, Earl dent and J.R. Thompson. A daughter of William C. Findley and Elvira Lewis Lindley, Miss Findley was born Feb. 5, 1874, and was reared on the farm. She came to Atchison with her sister, Miss May Findley, and her brother, John B. Findley, to make her home. Both her sister and brother preceded her in death. Miss Myrtle Findley was a wonderful homemaker and was devoted to her family. She had the confidence and affection of her neighbors and gave of herself with great generosity in serving and assisting others. Her kind and gentle manner endeared her to her many friends. From girlhood Miss Findley had been a member of the Christian church. Surviving are a nephew, V. E. Findley, Cheyenne, Wyo.; a niece, Miss Hazel Findley of the home; a great nephew, Malcolm E. Findley and a great great nephew, Arthur Findley, both of the home.
