Mabel Adams, age 83 of Robbinsville passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Arvil and Grace Hooper Waldroup. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. Adams in 1994, her daughter Nettie Adams Phillips in 1996, her grandson, Coy Phillips in 2001 and her sister, Estella Hooper. She is survived by her sons, Boyd Adams of Robbinsville, NC, Ray Adams of Murfreesboro, NC; brother, Vincent Waldroup of Walhalla, SC; sisters, Dorothy Rogers of Robbinsville, NC and Artie Bowland of Penn Valley, CA. She has 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Reverend Kevin Brooks will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 till 7:00 pm at the Chapel prior to the service. Committal Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 14, 2014 at Carver Cemetery. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
