Mrs. Mary Gable, 85, widow of W. J. Gable, passed away Sunday morning. Her death was not unexpected, as she had been bedfast for several months. The deceased was the daughter of Benjamin and Catherine White, and was born in Fayette county, Indiana, on Dec. 13, 1848. She was married to Mr. Gable in 1869, and the couple reared a large family of children on their farm, northeast of Mulberry. Since the husband's death, in 1925, Mrs. Gable and daughter Anna have lived in Mulberry.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Ella Smith, Miss Anna Gable, Eden Gable and Artus Gable, of Mulberry; Mrs. Arthur Packer, of Minneapolis, Minn.; Walter Gable, Miami county, Ind.; Dr. Homer Gable, Monticello, Ind.; Mrs. Iva Yount, Frankfort, Ind. Three children, George, Alfaretta and Alice, are deceased.

Mrs. Gable was a member of the Fair Haven Lutheran church. The funeral service was conducted at that church Tuesday afternoon by Pastor Whitman. Burial was in the nearby cemetery.
