Daughter of the late Hyman and Rose Levinstein, Irene graduated from Troy High School and attended the former NYS College for Teachers. She was bookkeeper and secretary of the Henry Cohen Furniture Co., a family run business until its closing. She was a member of Congregation Agudat Achim and its Sisterhood, Hadassah, and a former member of Shaker Ridge Country Club. Irene was married to Nathan Cohen who died in 1960 and Benjamin Goldberg who died in 1991. She was the sister of the late Dr. Arthur Levinstein, David Levinstein and Sanford Livingston. Irene is survived by two sons, Stuart E. Cohen and Richard E. Cohen of Nashville; three grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters.
