Barb wrote haikus, enjoyed reading, and stayed involved with those she loved by giving them articles, recipes, stickers, and advice. Her compassionate courage was evident by her decision, at the age of 18, to become a United States Nurse Cadet during World War II.

The summer before her senior year in high school, Barb was pushed into the water at the city park. As she fell, her chin hit the dock and broke her neck. Her whole senior year, she wore a neck brace. She suffered with back and neck problems all her life. She was courageous, caring, strong, loving, wise and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and big sister. Missed so much are those one hour phone calls when one's part of the conversation consisted of very few words and hers so many ... and it was perfect.

Barb loved butterflies, rainbows, seashells, and family. She was a woman of wisdom.
