"BENJAMIN WOODS, an old soldier died at his late home in Green township, Wednesday Feb. 7th, 1912 of diseases incident to old age. He was born in Ward township, Hocking County, Ohio. When quite a young man he enlisted in the army and served three years and six months, a member of Company H, 62nd O.V.I. In early life he became a member of the United Brethren church of which church he remained a member of until his death at the age of 72 years. He leaves to morn his departure three sons and one daughter. The funeral was from the First Methodist Church, Logan, Ohio, Thursday, Feb.8th, Rev. W.C.L. Correll, officiating. Interment on the Soldiers lot, Oak Grove cemetery. Comrades Samuel Moore, G.W. Benadum, George Risley and Jas. Allen were his pall bearers."
Benjamin, son of Andrew and Elizabeth (Betsy Miner) Woods, died of Chronic Nephritis at age 76 years.
