Dorothy Adaline Adams, 78, of Palm Hill Road, Polk RD 1, died at 3:15 pm Thursday, Sept. 22, at after a lengthy illness. Born July 13, 1910, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Judd and Clara Swab Carter.

She spent her entire life in the Franklin area and attended the public schools in Polk.

She married Lester Eugene Adams Sr., who survives, with six children, Lester E. Adams Jr. of Polk, Donald L. Adams of Rocky Grove, Clara Mae Adams Young of Lake City, Mrs. Meryl (Doris Rose) Hilbert of Huntsville, AL, Daryl J. Adams Sr. of Ashtabula, OH, and Mrs. Robert (Susan) Hart of Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Sara) Marshall pf Polk, and Mrs. Willard (Rose) Montgomery of FL; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is two brothers, Harrison Carter and George Carter; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Woods.

Services will be at 2 pm Saturday with Rev. George D. McDaniel, pastor of Maple Dale Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will e in Sandy Cemetery, Polk.
