"Odd Fellows' Funeral. - Yesterday afternoon the remains of Capt. Twining, late of the ship William Gray, were interred in the Protestant Cemetery. The corpse was followed to its resting place by a large body of his brethren belonging to the Order of Odd Fellows, who, as a comparative stranger to them on his first arrival in port, soon knew him as a brother, watched is last moments with all the attentions which love could dictate, or friendship bestow; and when all that love or friendship could do to the living, was found to be of no avail, carried out the great truth of their Order, and forsook him not until they had seen all that was left of this image of his maker, returned to its mother earth. The chipping in the port displayed their colors at half mast during the day, in token of that respect in which the deceased was held among those, whose calling it is to plough the deep."
