Adrian William Kaufmann, 90, of Atlanta died November 17, 2004. A native of San Francisco, California he was a graduate of the University of California at Berkley with a degree in Chemistry. Mr. Kaufmann was a Captain in the U. S. Army during WWII serving in Patton's 3rd Army 442 Heavy Maintenance Corp. After the war he was a chemist working for Swift Foods and retiring from Continental Can Company in 1979. Mr. Kaufmann was a member of the American Chemical Association and Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Elizabeth Kaufmann. Mr. Kaufmann is survived by his devoted second wife, Nina W. Kaufmann; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Anne and Tom Barnett, Mary Jean and Jimmy Bentley; grandchildren, Marie Elizabeth and husband Brannon Sabbarese, Rachel Lorraine, James Edward, and Jason William Bentley, Thomas Meador, Stephen Adrian, and Charlotte Leanne Barnett; and sister, Beverly Edwards of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mr. Kaufmann's wish was to be cremated and a memorial mass will be held Saturday, November 20th at three o'clock at All Saint's Catholic Church, 2443 Mt. Vernon Road, Dunwoody, GA 30338. He will be laid to rest with his wife, Mary Elizabeth Kaufmann at Arlington Memorial Park. The family prefers that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the St. Josephs Hospital Mercy Foundation, 5673 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Suite 650, Atlanta, GA 30342. The Family will receive friends Friday evening from seven until nine having a rosary service at eight o'clock at the Barnett Home and Saturday afternoon from two o'clock until the hour of service at the church.
