Mary L. Giraffa, 90, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center. Born November 14, 1923 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Sarah (Yost) Weaver. Mary was the loving wife of the late Pietro D. Giraffa, Sr. who died June 2, 1988. Mrs. Giraffa was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hanover Elks Lodge 763, and the Grandview Seniors. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, playing cards, bowling and especially being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Giraffa worked at Wege Pretzel for a few years and was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Mary is survived by a son; Pete D. Giraffa, Jr. and wife Barbara, a daughter; Sally K. Noel and husband Michael all of Hanover, PA, eight grandchildren; Andrea Kint and husband Jay, Anthony Giraffa and wife Lynn, Chad Giraffa and wife Kim, Jason Giraffa and wife Deb, Bryan Noel, Krystie Noel, Mitchell Noel and wife Emily, and Tyson Noel and wife Francesca, eleven great-grandchildren; Alexis, Jacob, Gino, Dominic, Zach, Chase, Trent, Taylor, Carter, Reece, and Christine. She was preceded in death by four brothers; Samuel, Donald, Richard, and Reed Weaver, and one sister; Dorothy "Sis" Breighner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Thursday, February 6, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA with Msgr. James M. Lyons as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
Serving as casketbearers will be; Anthony Giraffa, Chad Giraffa, Jason Giraffa, Tyson Noel, Mitchell Noel, Jacob Giraffa, Zach Kale, and Chase Kint.
