Nelson is commemorated on page 89 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance and there is a Tribute to him on the "Roll Call of Honour" website.

Citation: 1939-45 Star, Air Crew Europe Star, War Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Posthumously awarded RCAF Operational Wings in recognition of gallant service in action against the enemy.
