Rose Creek, Barney Uschold died at 10:00 p.m. Monday, January 10 at his home south of Rose Creek. He had been in failing health for several years but was confined to his bed only the last few days. He celebrated his 75th birthday annivarsary the Wednesday previous to his death.
Mr. Uschold was born January 5, 1863 at Nenno, Wis. He came to Minnesota in 1892 and located on the farm near Rose Creek which remained his home for 45 years.
He was married to Katharine Schottler of Rockwood, Wis. in July 1894. One child was born to them, Miss Kathryn Uschold of Marshalltown, Iowa. Mrs. Uschold died in April 1894.
In September, 1898, Mr. Uschold was married to Katherine Lux and four children were born to them: Mrs. Harold Murphy and Andrew Uschold of Austin; Henry, living at home and Mrs. Otto Hertel of Austin. He leaves, besides his wife and children, 11 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Reinartz of Rose Creek and Mrs. John McDonald of Austin. Four brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rose Creek.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at the family home at Rose Creek and at 9:30 at St. Peter's Church. Father Steger officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's cemetery.
