Rites Monday For Mr. Adams
George W. Adams, 82, of 355 W. Ostrander Ave., was pronounced dead on arrival yesterday at Community-General Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Adams had retired as a printer for the Herald-Journal and was a member of the Typographical and Printers Union for more than 50 years. He was a life resident of Syracuse.
He is survived by his wife, Helen M.; two sons, George Jr. of North Syracuse and Dr. Wesley Adams of Edmonton, Alta.; five daughters, Miss Mary Adams, Mrs. Georgette Vulovich, Mrs. Rose Marie Wheeler of Baldwinsville, Mrs. Naomi Bergman of Kent, Wash., and Mrs. Noreen Beard; two sisters, Miss Mary Ellen Adams and Miss Sophia Adams; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the LaFayette Methodist Church, 2026 Midland Ave., the Rev. Jay A. Wilcox officiating.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home, 503 W. Onondaga St.
Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
