Lannie Ross Franklin, 86, of Potosi, Texas died Wednesday, January 29, 2014.

Born in Potosi, Texas on July 6, 1927, he was the son of Frances Pearl (Ussery) and Benjamin Babe Franklin. He graduated from high school and attended college. He served in the U S Army (1945-47) as a medical tech. Lannie was a self-employed farmer and local businessman having owned and operated Franklin Heating & Air Conditioning and Franklin R.V. Center.

Lannie married Anna Ruth "Ann" Byram on April 2, 1945 in San Angelo, Texas.

He was a member of Highway 36 Church of Christ, where he had served as a deacon and elder.

Lannie was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn Franklin Hix; parents; six brothers; and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Ruth Franklin of Clyde; three children, Jimmie Ross Franklin and wife Patricia Ann of Potosi; Kay Wadley-Rose and husband Lee of Greenville, Texas; and Donald Mac Franklin and wife Ronni of Spring Branch, Texas. Survivors also include five grandchildren, Jimmie B. Franklin, Michelle Chrane, Carrie Wadley, Joshua Wadley, and Joshua Muth; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, at Highway 36 Church of Christ with Greg Melton, Blan Chrane and Terry Chrane officiating. Interment will follow in Potosi Cemetery directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. in Abilene. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Gary Vannoy, Leon Chrane, Rudy Johnson, Blan Chrane, Terry Chrane and Billy Berney.
