Alfred Baraka , 98, of Hudson, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born October 12, 1913 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Thesune) Baraka .
Alfred was employed as a safety officer for the NY State Department of Corrections in Beacon, NY, for 16 years before retiring. He had also worked on the family dairy farm and at the Universal Atlas Cement Company. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. Alfred was a member of St. Mary's Church in Hudson.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Ann Baraka and Veronica Dunn .
Alfred is survived by several good friends.
A calling hour will begin at noon Wednesday at the Bates & Anderson - Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home. Services will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
