Mrs. Luckey, 75, Called By Death

Life-Long Resident of County Dies, Northeast of City Sunday

 

Mrs. James Luckey, age seventy-five, a well known life-long resident of Jackson county, died at the home northeast of Seymour on Seymour R1 at 7:15 o'clock Sunday night. Death was sudden and due to heart disease.

 

Mrs. Luckey was born on October 3, 1863, in Jackson county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Madden. She was married on March 30, 1886, in Jackson county to Andrew Haskett who died on December 12, 1920. She was married on March 21, 1922, to James Luckey, who died on March 25, 1937.

 

During her long residence in the vicinity, she made a host of friends who mourn her passing. She was a member of the Ackaret's Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church.

 

Three children preceded Mrs. Luckey in death. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Cannon, of Bloomington, Illinois; two brothers, Perry Madden, of California and Stephen Madden, of Indinapolis, and four sisters, Mrs. Flossie Cristie, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Minnie Spray and Mrs. Bessie Olinger, both of Seymour and Mrs. Nellie Abel, of Bedford. Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Tower Funeral Home with Dr. A. A. Cohn, pastor of the First Baptist Church in charge. Burial in Reddington Cemetery.

 

Friends may call at the Tower Funeral Home here after 7 o'clock tonight.

 

She married Andrew J. Haskett on 3/31/1887 in Jackson County, Indiana - he died 1920. She married James W. Luckey on 3/21/1922 in Jackson County, Indiana.
