Charles Foley was in the Civil War in the 1863 Emergency Regiment of Blue Reserves.
Charles Foley died October 14, 1863 of Hepatitis and buried at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. His obituary in the Philadelphia Public Ledger on Oct 13, 1863 reads:
On the 10th instant, Charles Foley, in the 30th(50th?) year of his age.
The relatives and friends of the family, Co. B. Blue Reserves State Militia, and members of the Varnishers Union are invited to attend the funeral from his late residence, Bramble court, Passyunk Rd, below German Street, on Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Interment at
Mount Moriah Cemetery.
Charles Foley's brother, George Foley is also buried at this cemetery. He also fought in the Civil War and died 1865.
His wife Mary Lovett Foley's death record hasn't been found yet, but she is most likely buried at Old Cathedral Cemetery with her parents and children, as are some of her siblings in Section O, Range 6, Lot 25.
