Birth is shown as: Weston Under Penyard, Herefordshire, England.

Married: Harriet Wilkes Rogers on 11 October 1857 at Weston Under Penyard, Herefordshire, England

Immigrated to Utah, U.S.A. with wife, Harriet, aboard the ship "Idaho"
Departure: 7 Sep 1870 from Liverpool, U.K.
Arrival: 22 Sep 1870 at New York, U.S.A.
Arrival: 1 Oct 1870 at Ogden, Utah (via train)

George is not found on passenger list, however his wife, Harriet, is found with the list of passengers.

His parents had immigrated during 1866 and located at Kaysville, Davis County, Utah. George and Harriet also settled at Kaysville, Davis County, Utah.

Family history states after arrival in Utah, George took his wife, Harriet, to Draper, Utah where her daughter, Louisa, lived and abandoned her there.

Story from Fred Beach
George married widow Harriet Rogers his brothers mother in law. That brother was Benjamin Meek who died crossing Wyoming in 1866, his wife Louisa gave birth to his son Benjamin when she arrived in Kaysville with her only surviving child Annie, two sons died in England.

George married Harriet who was some 25 years older, but he had an affair with Harriet's daughter Elizabeth who was 21, and I believe George left for the US once he knew Elizabeth was pregnant, before Elizabeth gave birth to his son Joseph Rogers (no fathers name) but when Elizabeth married Harriet was left with young Joseph. In 1870 when Joseph was 9 Harriet decided to take Joseph to be with his father in Utah, on the ships list he is using the name Meek and said to be Harriet's grandson. I have no idea if father and son were united, but George had no interest in Harriet and "Went South" and she remained with her daughter Louisa who was now married to Andrew Jackson Allen. My Great-Grandmother Hannah who was Harriet's youngest daughter remained here in the UK with Elizabeth her sister never seeing her mother again.
It was Harriet's first husband John Rogers who baptised John Ennis(s) into the Mormon faith, and probably the Meek family too. John died before he could travel to Utah.
