Lawrence Melvin Puckett, 41, of 1801 Racine, died at 4 p.m. Thursday after a sudden heart attack while visiting in Dallas City, Ill.
He was born April 25, 1916 at New London the son of Samuel and Ella Grinstead Puckett. He was married to Mabel Woodson at Quincy, Ill.
Puckett was a veteran of world war II and was employed as a construction worker.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Larry; three brothers, Francis of Burlington, Delbert in Illinois, and William in California; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Wallace, Sulfa, Okla., and Mrs. Verna Thoresen, Osage; and his mother. His father is dead.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Giles funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Lawrence Melvin Puckett, 41, Burlington, died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon at Lomax, IL. He had suffered a slight attack in April. The body was brought to the Martin Funeral Home in Dallas City and removed today to the Giles Funeral Home in Burlington. An inquest will be conducted by Henderson county coroner, C. R. Mellor of Stronghurst. Mr. Puckett was born in New London, Iowa, the son of Samuel and Ella Grinstead Puckett. He was a bulldozer operator by trade. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mable Puckett of Burlington.
