Gerard J. Walsh, aged 86, of Norwich, NY, formerly of West Sayville, NY, passed away on January 17, 2014 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He is survived by his wife Joyce; their daughter Brenda Ivans (Joe); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Vincent A. Walsh and Willard Walsh.

Gerry worked as an instructor and assistant principal at BOCES II in Patchogue, NY and was a member of Local 25 IBEW on Long Island. He was president of the teacher's association; a member of NYSUT, IBEW 25 retirees club, Suffolk Democratic Committee, and Third Order of St. Francis. He also proudly served in the United States Army Air Force; a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Services held at Behe Funeral Home, Oxford, NY. Funeral Mass at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, Norwich, NY, with Rev. Ralph Bove officiating. Interment at St. Paul's Cemetery, Norwich, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to Hospice of Chenango County, Norwich, NY.
