It's assumed that Delina died and was buried in the intervening decade in one of those two counties. If an excerpt from son John's 1917 obituary is accurate, then Delina lived to make the move west; it stated that, "Deceased....when but a lad moved with his parents to Perrysville, Ind."
INCORRECT DEATH DATE
A number of online Trees show Delina with a death date of Dec. 18, 1852 in Hendricks County, IN; however, that date belongs to her niece (child of her brother Amos), Delilah Blunk-Duncan.
Notice that the memorial for that niece's mother is linked — Delilah (Shoemaker) Blunk, vs. Delina (Blunk) Shoemaker on this memorial. All of these similar names may help explain the confusion.
