He retired from the U.S. Army and served in Viet Nam where he received the Bronze Star. He worked for the State of Texas, Department of Information Resources, as a Security Analyst.
Roger is survived by his wife, Ida Lee (Chase) Bales; son, Aaron Randolph Bales of San Antonio; daughter, Brandi Lee Ashton of Hutto; brother, Robert Gene Bales of Katy; and four grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at Pennington Funeral Home, 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M., with Graveside Services to follow at 1:00 P.M., on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at the Kyle Cemetery, with Pastor John William Rudd officiating.
