BRODHEAD -John Jay Howard, 71, died Saturday in Cincinnati. Born March 2, 1912, in Harlan County, he was son of the late Robert W. and Ellen Howard Howard.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle DeBoard Howard of Cincinnati; a daughter Deborah Howard Thompson of Goshen, Ohio; two brothers Cecil Howard of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Brown Lee Howard of South Gate, Calif.; four sisters, Elsie Osborne of Danville, Geneva Lear of Burgin, Bobbie Lawrence of Whitaker, Calif., and Mildred Stevens of Crab Orchard Route 3; and a grandson, John Nicholas Thompson of Goshen.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home in Brodhead with Tinsley Rector officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home
