A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she made her home for many years with her mother, Maude Hale in Barnardsville and with her sister, Irene Honeycutt in Woodfin. She attended Barnardsville School, was a member of Barnardsville Baptist Church and attended Newbridge Baptist Church.
Miss Hale was a daughter of the late James Fernando Hale and Maude Belle McPeters Hale. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Julia Harris, Kathleen Higgins, Irene Honeycutt and Betty Hale.
Surviving are her sister, Ann Whitt of Brevard and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 PM on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the home of her nephew, Donald Honeycutt.
Burial will be in Maney Cemetery at a later date.
