Oskaloosa, Veteran Dead, Levi Airy, Aged 74, Dies at Soldiers Home Hospital
Levi Airy, aged 74, former resident of Oskaloosa, died at 12:30 this afternoon at the soldier's home hospital of paralysis. Mr. Airy was born in Logan Co., Indiana, Feb. 12, 1846 and enlisted, Aug. 1, 1863, in the Fourth Iowa battery at Oskaloosa. He was discharged July 24, 1865. Besides his widow, Mrs. Anna Airy, a member of the home, two sons, and a daughter survive him. They are, W. R. Airy and Mrs. Eva V. Blair, of Oskaloosa and C. E. Airy, of Nevada. The body will be taken to Oskaloosa for burial.
