Charles Crist, Hotelman, Dies
Charles Alden Crist, 116 Garden Crescent, proprietor of the Imperial hotel, and local dog fancier, died this morning in the Holy Cross hospital.
Born in Browning, Missouri, he came to Calgary in 1905, where he took a great interest in baseball, playing with the old Western Canada Twilight League. An ardent dog fancier, he was a member of the Field Trial Club for many years. He was also a member of the Alberta Hotelmen's Association, and the Elks club. He had been manager of the Imperial hotel until his retirement three months ago.
Surviving are his wife, Julie, a daughter, Mrs. L.W. Campbell, one grandchild, and a sister, Abbie, all of Calgary; a brother, George, lives in Missouri.
Rev. John McKnight will conduct funeral services in Park Memorial chapel Friday at 3:30 p.m., with burial in Union cemetery.
