Edwin "Ed" Frerick Adermann, 93, of Vandalia, passed away at 9:25pm, January 13, 2014 at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Jerry Bagwell officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the church. Memorials: In Lieu of Flowers Memorials may be made to Vandalia High School Wrestling Team, Vandalia Avenue of Flags, or donor's choice.

Mr. Adermann was born on January 7, 1921 in Witt, IL, the son of Ferdinand Adermann Jr. and Ellanora (Godberson) Adermann. He married Lola Margaret (Oberg) Adermann on May 29, 1946, in Vandalia. He was the former Owner/Operator of Higgins Dry Cleaners. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia American Legion Post #95 and Vandalia VFW Post # 3862.

He is survived by son, Merle Adermann and his wife Georgi of Vandalia; daughters, Genny and her husband Dean Matzker of Vandalia, and Nori and her husband Dan Pruitt of Vandalia; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Alvena Noffsinger of Vandalia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Margaret; brothers Earl Adermann and August Adermann; sister Freda Moeller; granddaughter Dana Lynn Adermann Brown; grandson Ryan Matzker; great granddaughter Brooklyn Patterson; and nephew Gary Noffsinger.
