Donny was born in Syracuse and lived there all of his life. He was the youngest of four brothers and one sister.
His brother Carmen served in the US Marines during the Korea War and brother Nicholas served in the US Marines and brother Michael served in the Air Force.
Donny enlisted in the Marines 15 August 1967, at the Syracuse Recruiting Office.
Arriving in Vietnam 8 March 1968 Donny was assigned to H&S Company, 2nd Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
Survived by his parents, Nicholas John, Sr and Carmella Madonna Pollastro of 2416 Lodi St, Syracuse, New York, his brother & sister-in-law, Carmen Frank and Rosalinda Pollastro, brother and
sister-in-law, Nicholas John Jr and Irene Pollastro and brother Michael Pollastro and sister, Marie Pollastro all of Syracuse, New York.
