WATERBURY — Mr. Nicola "Nick" Guerrera, age 86, of Waterbury, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at the Paradigm of Prospect. He was the beloved husband of Maddalena (Calabrese) Guerrera for 62 years.
Nick was born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy on April, 25, 1927, son of the late Ferdinando and Caterina (Rinaldi) Guerrera, and he was a carpenter/foreman for the Connecticut Carpenters Local Union No. 24. He was a longtime member of the Pontelandolfo Community Club and enjoyed playing bocci at the club. Nick was an avid gardener, enjoyed bowling, walking daily at the mall and working out at Planet Fitness. He enjoyed the years he lived in Florida and loved listening and dancing to Glen Miller.
Nick's family would like to thank the entire staff at Paradigm of Prospect, especially the Patriot Ward for their special care they gave to him.
Besides his wife of Waterbury, Nick leaves his daughter, Catherine Mancini and her husband, Paul, of Oakville; grandchildren Robert Paul Mancini and his fiancee, Mindi Davidson, Laura Nicole Mancini; twin great-grandchildren Evan and Kara Davidson; brother Antonio Guerrera and his wife, Victoria, of Nackawic, Canada; sister Olympia "Livia" Nuzzolillo of Southington; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Nicholas Mark Guerrera Jr.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with Nick's arrangements.
