Services for Joe R. Shapard, 68, who died Thursday, will be conducted at noon at Utter-McKinley's Eagle Rock Chapel, 4824 Eagle Rock Blvd. Interment will be private. Mr. Shapard, 1417 Hazelwood Ave., Eagle Rock, had been an officer of the Los Angeles Police Department for 33 years, retiring in 1955. He leaves his widow; a daughter, Irene Leitch; a son, Joe R.
