Stevenson moved to Breckenridge in 1888 and with the exception of three years he lived at Strawn, he lived in Breckenridge.
Some years ago, Stevenson served as Sheriff of Stephens County, tax assessor, county commissioner, and postmaster of Breckenridge. He assisted in organizing the Elks Lodge in Breckenridge and was its first secretary. In 1929, he was voted a life membership.
Survived by two sons - Jeff and Marvin Stevenson; three daughters - Mrs. J.M. Chaney, Mrs. Ritchie Price and Mrs. Joe Rogers; one brother - Lee Stevenson; 19 grandchildren.
His wife preceded him in death.
