Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Ward Byron Rasmussen, Sr., age 86, passed away peacefully April 22, 1993, in a local hospital.

Ward was born September 7, 1906, in Ephraim, Utah, to James A. and Sarah Eda Thompson Rasmussen. He married Emma Lucille Holbrook, March 5, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A High Priest in the LDS church, Ward served in many callings over the years, including a mission in the Eastern States Mission (1930-32) and a worker in the Salt Lake Temple for over 23 years. He owned and operated the Ward Rasmussen's Choice Meats, for many years. Ward was devoted in all that he did, his work, his family and his church. His passing saddens our hearts, but we know that he will always be with us.

Survived by his wife Lucille, Salt Lake City; three daughters, Martha R. Harding, Alpine, Joan R. Startin, Salt Lake City, and Lucille R. "Holly" Rueckert, Sandy; a son, Ward B. Rasmussen, Jr., also Sandy; 36 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruby Birda Hill and Alta LaRue Nielson.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 26th, 11 am, at the Mt. Olympus 7th Ward, 4407 So. Fortuna Way (3650 East). Friends may call Sunday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens of the Valley. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
