My 3rd Great-Uncle. 4th great-grandson of Godfrey I and Mary Ragsdale.

Married Amanda Curry, November 5, 1841 in Dearborn Co., IN. She is probably the Mary Amanda Ragsdale who married John T. Tyre on February 2, 1853 as 2nd marriage.

Boone Co., KY, Deed Book N, p 137, January 26, 1842: Newton Ragsdale to John Cave and Jos. Foster, merchants doing business as Cave and Foster. For $100, one bay mare 6 years old, 10 head sheep, 8 head hogs, 3 cows, 2 calfs, 2 beds, and bedding, one bureau, one look ing glass, 9 chairs, 2 skillets, one pot and other kitchen furniture, also small quanity of cupboard ware, one work stand. To be void if Newton Ragsdale pays his note of $70 one day after date of note. /s/ Newton Ragsdale

On Aug 7, 1847 in Dearborn Co., IN Uncle Newton purchased lot #68 in Aurora. On Dec 7th, his brother, William bought lot #63.

Uncle Newton's birth date is unknown, but it was probably between 1820-1825 which would make him no more than 30 years of age when he died of cholera.
