Mrs. Angela Giesel, age 92, died October 23, at the Crestview Care Center in West Branch, Iowa. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 26, at the Walton Funeral Home in Sibley at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Roy Hoover officiated Burial was in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery.
Angela was born April 16, 1884, in Hohenstadt, Moravia, Austria, daughter of Theophil and Franceska (Hanpt) Krusch. She was married to John Vincen Giesel on April 20, 1902. In 1906, they moved to the Ocheyedan area.
She is survived by four sons: Herman of St. Paul, Minnesota, Louis of Seattle, Washington, John of Clear Lake, South Dakota; and Joseph of Ocean Side, California; three daughters: Angela Pontow, of Durant, Iowa; Darlene Louise First of Durant and Phyllis Mardella First of Durant; 18 grandchildren, 39 great-great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
