Funeral services for Alvena Lowe, 95, of Baytown, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at the Garmany & Carden Chapel in Rosenberg. Officiating the service will be Rev. Donald Kolkmeier. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Calvin Band, Trent Dugas, Stacy and Cody Marek, Max Band III, Chad and Larry Band, and Herbert Gerken, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Joey Presnall, Charles Cauthen, Jamye Dugas, and Lawrence Martinez.

Mrs. Lowe died Saturday, Oct. 15, at Baycoast Medical Center in Baytown. She was born Aug. 31, 1899 in Brenham, the daughter of Henry and Anna Gerken. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Rosenberg and active in the Martha Circle. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond.

Survivors include her daughter, Earline Bramlett and husband, Billy, of Baytown; grandchildren, Carol Diane Cauthen and husband, Charles Ray, Jamye Dugas and wife, Sara, Lori Presnall and husband, Joey, all of Baytown, Deborah Band, Max Band III and wife, Kim, of Rosenberg, Joan Martinez and husband, Lawrence, of Crosby; daughter-in-law, Winona Band of Rosenberg; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Freddie Gerken of Rosenberg; a sister, Minnie Schulz of Needville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Band Sr.; a son, Max Band Jr., and by her husband, Delbert I. Lowe.

Memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ in Rosenberg.
