Mrs. Bertha J. Linder
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home for Mrs. Bertha Jane Linder, 64, 532 Gray. She died Friday at a Topeka hospital after a long illness.
She was born March 30, 1918 at Riverton, Iowa, the daughter of Wages (?) and Stella Billings. She attended Topeka schools and lived in Topeka most of her life.
She married Edmund D. Linder May 29, 1935 at Independence, Mo. He died Oct. 28, 1978. a son, Gary Byron Linder, died in September 1942.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Kincaid, Berryton, Mrs. Carol Tillman, Topeka and Mrs. Sandra Best, Meriden; eight sons, Jerry Linder and Dale Linder, both of the home, Marvin Linder, Keith Linder, Larry Linder, Charles Linder and Kenneth Linder, all of Topeka, and Melvin Linder, Bellvue, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Evelyn Phillip, Torrance, Calif., and Mrs. Betty Hewer, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; a stepson, Richard Linder, Topeka; three half-sisters, Margaret Linder, Salina, Mrs. Dorothy Moran, Powhattan, La., and Mrs. Mildered (?) Temple, Fort Worth, Texas; four half-brothers, Waltred (?) Linder, Clyde Linder and Robert Linder, all of Topeka, and Donald Linder, Salina; five grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, and seven step-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
