Esther Fuchs, 87, long-time resident of Jamestown, ND died Monday, January 6, 2014 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Esther was born August 4, 1926 near Fredonia, in Logan County, ND, the daughter of Edward and Emma (Ketterling) Entzi. She grew up and received her education in that area.

She married Edwin Fuchs May 22, 1944 at Ashley, ND. They farmed in the Fredonia area until 1952 when they moved to Jamestown where Edwin was then employed with the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. They were members of St. John's Lutheran Church and she was a member of the Ladies Aid in the early years. She was a housewife and homemaker until 1958 when she was employed at the Jamestown Hospital in the dietary department. She was employed there until 1962. She then went to work at the CutLow Grocery Store in the meat department until 1966. From 1986 until 2001 she cared for children in her home. She enjoyed baking, gardening and crocheting.

Esther is survived by two sons, Jerry and Jeff Fuchs; one daughter, Judy Wohlwend; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin Entzi; and three sisters, Adline Fuchs, Edna Weisphenning and Etala Ruff.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and one brother, Harold Entzi.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Erik Weber officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:30 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:30 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Spring Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
