He died at a Portland Hospice center on January 7, 2014 at the age of 79.
Rich attended schools in Corna, S. Dakota. He married Rose Folk on June 27, 1955 and they moved to St. Helens in 1957.
He worked for Owen Corning for 27 years and James River as a mechanic for 12 years retiring in 1987.
Rich attended St. Frederic Catholic Church until a few years ago when his health slowed him down.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Moose, Eagles Lodges, VFW, and the AFL-CIO. His enjoyments included working on and racing cars.
Survivors include: Wife: Rose Lewno of St. Helens; Children: Rita Karges of Deer Island; Ronda Muller of Coeur ‘D Alene, Idaho, Ronald Lewno of Warren, OR.; Rodney Lewno of Nampa, Idaho; Rosalind Gedlick of Warren; Rory Lewno of Columbia City; Randy Lewno of Deer Island; Siblings: Tony Lewno of Spokane, WA.; Jerry Lewno of Milbank, S. Dakota; Phyllis Hamling of Des Moines, Iowa; Numerous Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren.
