Marion Pennington was a son of Jefferson Brown & Edith (Redford) Pennington.

Marion married Martha Ann Elliott on 27 May 1863 in Moniteau Co., MO. To this union at least 10 children were born: 1) D. Frank 2) Wm L. 3) Martha J. "Elizabeth / Lizzie" 4) Lucinda 5) Albert 6) Cora 7) Mary 8) Ora Ethel 9) Edna & 10) Walter E. Pennington.

MILITARY:

Marion PENNINGTON, served in the Civil War, Union, Private, Cavalry, MO State Militia 5th Regt Cavalry M. S. M., Company F, Capt. Brown, enlisted 20 Mar 1862 in Moniteau Co., MO; mustered in Apr 13, 1862 in Boonville, Cooper Co., MO; discharged 11 June 1862 for disability.

Marion applied for Pension July 20, 1885 from MO and listed the two following units in which he served Company F, 5th Regt, MO S. M. Cavalry and Company F, 13th Regt, S. M. Cavalry. It is unknown if the pension was approved or denied.

Marion Pennington City Pioneer, Dies
Aged Farmer came to City 39 years ago
Marion Pennington, 89 years old, pioneer farmer, died Thursday at his home, 1928 N.W. 10th Street. He had been in failing health for a year.
Pennington moved here 39 years ago from Carroll Co., MO and bought a farm in what is now part of the Southwestern residential district of the city. His corn field was on the plot now occupied by Washington School. He retired 25 years ago.
Pennington is survived by two sons W. L. and W. E. Pennington, both of OKC, and five daughters Mrs. Elizabeth O'Dell, Mrs. Henry Maybrun and Mrs. Cora Wilson, all of OKC; Mrs. W. F. Chapman, Harrah, and Mrs. C. H. Teuscher, Burlington, IA. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Watts and McAfee funeral home.
