She became a member of the Church of Christ early in life and remained a faithful member until her death.
She was married to William A. JEFFERS March 4, 1865, and to this union were born eleven children—Elsworth E., Clara B., William A., George N., Margaret L., Ewel Milton, Charles H., Samuel D., James Thurman and Mina E. and one who died in infancy.
The greater part of her life was spent on the farm with her husband, whence she joyfully shared the trials and hardships of rearing her family, setting before her children the example of a righteous and Godly life. After she had grown old and feeble in the service she and her husband moved to Lyons ten years ago, where she lived until death.
Her last illness began about a year ago. She became afflicted with the influenza last September, and after a lingering illness of ten months during which time she suffered much, she passed from the world of sickness, pain and sorrow into the hands of her God.
She leaves her husband, seven children—one daughter and six sons—thirty-two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Margaret BOAGARD, and many other relatives and friends to mourn her departure.
The funeral services were held for the Dog Island Church, Friday, July 11, 1919, conducted by Elder O'NEAL, after which her remains were laid to rest in the churchyard cemetery.
