Sherman Farris Adair Sr., 83, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Monday January 6, 2014. A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, he was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War, and a former employee of Chemical Leman where he worked for 15 years as a diesel mechanic. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Jean Adair; son, Sherman Farris Adair Jr.; parents, Jessie F. Adair Sr. and Myrtle Akins Adair and sister, Mildred Mullins. Sherman is survived by his wife, Margaret Lane Adair of Ringgold, GA.; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Barbara Adair of Ringgold, GA.; three sisters, Barbara Dolnik of Texas, Virginia Glenn of Huntsville, AL., and Margaret Hall of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.; brother, Jessie F. Adair Jr. of Panama City, FL., several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday January 9, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jimmy Bryant and Rev. Michael Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3-9 P.M. and Thursday until funeral time at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Georgia.
