Avery Edward Dobbins, 88, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 18, 2013. Born September 28,1924, Mr. Dobbins served in the United States Army, and was retired from C&O Railroad Systems. He was a member of Glovier Memorial Methodist Church for many years. Mr. Dobbins was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Dobbins and Hannah D. Arnold; his loving wife, Juanetta Purkey; three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Dennis E. and Denise, grandson, Joseph C. (Jessica), all of Dublin, Georgia; granddaughters, Kelly of Lynchburg and Emily of Warner Robins, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Jordan Patterson, Jocelyn, Avery, and Myla Dobbins. Services will be held Wednesday August 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of Glovier Memorial Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Glovier Memorial Methodist Church. McDow Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
