Rev. Homer Campbell, 88 of Bollinger County and Advance, died November 25, 1992 at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born April 2, 1904 to William Campbell and Lucinda (Shiverdeck) Campbell.
He had been a General Baptist minister in southeast MO for 51 years.
He was a member of Bright Prospect Baptist Church, near McGee, MO.
He first married Myrtle Effie Kinder on March 6, 1926 at Marble Hill, MO. She died February 12, 1977.
He later married Alma (Lemons) Deckard on April 27, 1980 at Zalma, MO. She died Nov, 4, 1985.
He is survived by three sons, Gilbert Campbell of Jerseyville, IL; Willard Campbell of Eat Alton, IL; and Raymond Campbell of Springfield, IL; two daughters, Mae Gulley of Scott City, MO; and Betty Talley of South Roxana, IL; one step-son, James L. Deckard of St. Louis, MO; one step-daughter of Veda Goolsby of Zalma, MO; one brother, Walter Campbell of Advance, MO; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and four step-grandchildren.
Two sons, one brother, two sisters, two grandchildren and one step-grandchild preceded him in death.
Services were Saturday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Burial followed in Bollinger County Memorial Park in Marble Hill.
