The Cherokee Daily Times, 19 March 1987, page 2: Services for Hilda Law, 85, Pierson, are 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church in rural Correctionville. Mrs. Law died Tuesday at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Kingsley. The Rev. Martin Osterloh will officiate services with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery in Pierson. Friends may call at the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley after 2 p.m. Friday. Hilda Christine Rock was born June 1, 1901, in Pierson, Iowa, the daughter of Fritz and Christine Neumeier Rock. She grew up in the Pierson area and received her teaching certificate at Morningside College. She taught in county schools before marrying Glen C. Law May 10, 1924, in rural Correctionville. They lived in Sioux City for seven years before returning to a farm west of Pierson. They farmed there until retiring and moving into Pierson in 1970. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Sunday School teacher and a 4-H leader for many years. Survivors include three sons, Jack of Pierson, Don of LeMars and Paul of St. Paul, Minnesota; one daughter, Mrs. Ed (Lois) Frett of Norwalk, California; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, one sister, one brother and one grandson.
