Services for Jack F. Owens, 74, of Abilene will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith with the Rev. Rudy Owen officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
He died Saturday at a local hospital.
Mr. Owens was born in Abilene. He attended schools in Westbrook and Olden. A painter and paper hanger he was employed by E.W. Bowman for 25 years before retiring. A US Army veteran he served in the 602nd Tank Destroyer Battalion and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No 2012. He also was a member of the Painters Union No 818 in Fort Worth and Elmwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Ethel Alene "Woots" Swann Owens of Abilene; a son Michael Dale Owens of Abilene; a daughter Jackie Davis of Abilene; three sisters, Hazel Conaway of Sapulpa Oklahoma, Molly Miller of Abilene and Dinah Boyle of Houston and four grandsons.
